Bereavement Ministry

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path”. Psalm 119:105

MISSION   To be a source of compassion, care, and support to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The members work to reach out to them to ease such suffering through their presence, so the sufferers will feel the healing comfort of God throughout the community.

GOALS That each parishioner who has experienced the death of a love one will feel the love and support of the members of Maple Springs Baptist Church and the Maple Springs Baptist Church Bereavement Ministry and also the prayers of the total church community.

MEETINGS: The Bereavement Ministry meets every third Saturday of the month at 11:00am.

GriefShare

MINISTRY GriefShare’s parent ministry is Church Initiative. Church Initiative is a nondenominational, nonprofit ministry serving more than 20,000 churches worldwide. From its headquarters in Wake Forest, North Carolina, the ministry creates and publishes video-based curricula to help churches minister to people experiencing life crises.

MISSION Our mission is to equip local churches to mobilize lay ministry teams to help people hurting because of a major life crisis.

VISION:

To see churches help hurting people heal through the use of GriefShare, DivorceCare, Single & Parenting, and DivorceCare for Kids.

To see churches engage in effective outreach and grow numerically as they consistently offer GriefShare, DivorceCare, Single & Parenting, and DivorceCare for Kids to their communities.

To see nonbelievers realize that apart from Christ, they will never experience complete healing from the pain of a major life crisis.

To see nonbelievers placing their faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sin as a result of hearing the gospel through GriefShare, DivorceCare, Single & Parenting, and DivorceCare for Kids, within the context of a local church.

To see Christ-followers realize they have access to God’s resources and experience complete healing from the pain of bereavement.

To see people realize that God often uses tragedy and suffering to help us grow.

To provide churches with resources that equip lay leaders to pursue their ministry passion and utilize their God-given ministry gifts with excellence.
